Beer & Wine Dinners

Recently had the pleasure of doing a beer AND wine dinner at Aida Bistro in Columbia, MD, on October 16.  What a pleasure!  First time I had done the combined format and I was really happy with both the success of the pairings and the response of the audience. We took a loose survey after each course and I am glad to report that beer was the preferred beverage at least 50% of the time.

The reason I am so pleased with this is not necessarily because I want beer to be the "'winner" - but because I want beer to have a respected place at the table.  Clearly more folks are beginning to understand that beer offers just as much complexity as wine, and depending on the food being served, should absolutely be considered as a viable choice.  So it is extremely exciting for me to have the chance to do an event like this and  I can assure you that I will be doing more such dinner events in the future!  Here was the menu from the evening:
