Heavy Seas Pyrate Guide to Beer Fest Survival

The Heavy Seas Pyrate Guide to Beer Fest Survival

Arrgh spring - the time when every young pyrate’s thoughts turn to… BEER FESTS!  Our crew at Heavy Seas Beer have these suggestions for getting the most out of each festival you attend.

1.       Buy your tickets in advance - they are usually cheaper that way and you won’t run the risk of a sellout.

2.       Spend the extra cash on VIP sessions. They are far less crowded and often offer special beers such as casks that the general masses won’t get.

3.       Check out the brewery & beer list on the festival website. Plan your attack in advance to get to the more rare or popular beers 1st.

4.       Eat before you go (carbs carbs carbs!) then eat again before you leave the fest.

5.       Line up a designated driver or check out the possibility of public transportation – just in case.

6.       Drink water as you go. Better  yet, also drink a bunch the night before the fest. You’ll dehydrate slower.  Bring in an empty bottle and fill it at a water fountain if you don’t want to spend $.

7.       Take notes. Which beers did you like best and why? This will help you find them at your local beer store later.

8.       Be sure to stop by the Heavy Seas booth for your free pyrate eyepatch. Remember, one eye patch is good. Two eyepatches are bad. Trust us on this one.

9.       Bring ‘treasure’ cash for that beer T, hot sauce or cigar that you just have to have.  ATM lines are always long & never from your bank.

10.   Be nice or walk the plank. Everyone is there for love of beer and most of the folks pouring are volunteers. There will be lines.

11.   Have fun!!
