Try Beer This Thanksgiving
Spice up your Thanksgiving feast this season by serving beer with your holiday meal. Craft beer is an interesting alternative to wine and provides a broader range of flavors for less than you’d spend on most wines and is also a great deal of fun. Gather friends and explore your own unique combinations!
Aperitif - Greet your guests with something cold and refreshing. We recommend our Clipper City McHenry Lager or the Clipper City Gold. Light in flavor, these beers are the perfect way to get the gathering started.
Hor d’oeuvre - Hops is the name of the game here. A good pale ale like our Clipper City Pale Ale will match up with most small bites without overpowering the flavors. Just offering a cheese course? Our friends at Cabot have helped us pair our favorite beers with their products.
50% Reduced Fat Cheddar - McHenry Lager
Seriously Sharp Cheddar - Clipper City Pale Ale or Winter Storm
Horseradish Cheddar - Clipper City MarzHon
Pepper Jack - Small Craft Warning
Tomato Basil Cheddar - Loose Cannon
Hot Habanero Cheddar - Peg Leg Imperial Stout

Main Course - Here is where you can be creative. Serving stuffing with sausage? Try our award winning MarzHon. Offer Small Craft Warning Uber Pils since it’s lightness of flavor will compliment the turkey. You can also cut through the richness and heaviness of the recipes with the wonderfully hoppy Loose Cannon.
Dessert - Our favorite course! Peg Leg Imperial Stout with it’s notes of coffee and dark chocolate make it a winner with any dessert. Serving pumpkin pie? Match grandma’s recipe up with our newest release, The Great Pumpkin - Imperial Pumpkin Ale.
After Dinner - Relax with a small glass of our Below Decks. This malty barley wine is meant to be shared and enjoyed slowly. Best served just below room temperature.
How to serve beer Remember that you shouldn’t serve beer to your guests directly in the bottle. Why? Most of our ability to taste comes from our sense of smell - so create an aromatic head by pouring that delicious beverage into a glass. There is no need to chill your glassware since a chilled glass lessens the flavor of beer.
