Black is Beautiful

Heavy Seas is proud to join the Black is Beautiful initiative lead by Weathered Souls Brewing!
“The Black is Beautiful initiative is a collaborative effort amongst the brewing community and its customers, in an attempt to bring awareness to the injustices that many people of color face daily. Our mission is to bridge the gap that's been around for ages and provide a platform to show that the brewing community is an inclusive place for everyone of any color”.
The Black is Beautiful beer itself starts with a base stout recipe that breweries across the country are using. Breweries are more than welcome to use their creativity to brew their own unique version, and once finished, all breweries involved are donating 100% of the beer’s proceeds.
Heavy seas will donating 100% of the proceeds to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund. “Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, LDF seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans. LDF also defends the gains and protections won over the past 75 years of civil rights struggle and works to improve the quality and diversity of judicial and executive appointments”.
Heavy Seas’s unique version of Black is Beautiful is set to release this coming November during a multi-day fundraiser. Between now and then, we will share more information on our plans to use our upcoming can releases and social platforms as a vehicle for change. We know change can only happen if we all work together to create it. With your support, we know this will not just be a moment- it will be a movement.
