Assistant Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
The Assistant Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting with the maintenance, repair, and occasional operation of our packaging machinery and equipment. This position also assists with the ongoing process improvement and efficiency of packaging and preventive maintenance projects. This is a full time position with hours Monday-Friday starting at 6am and varying shift lengths.

Physical Conditions
Ability to handle different kinds of mechanical equipment and machinery. Capacity to lift to 55 lbs., maneuver 175 lbs. and perform other physically demanding duties. Able to stand and work at least 8 hours at a time.
Working Conditions
The work environment can be cold, wet, hot and noisy and may require work in enclosed spaces. Personal protection equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, and boots are required.

Essential Functions
- Routinely perform preventative maintenance of packaging machines.
- Facilitate efficient production by assisting with and/or performing changeover of machines for different products.
- Effectively operating packaging machines as needed.
- Participate with Maintenance Team process improvement initiatives and new equipment installation.
- Assist the Packaging Team when needed.
- Train and cross-train others as needed.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Technical training or hands-on experience required.
- 1-2 years of experience with PM programs, spare parts management, instrumentation, automated equipment and or PLC’s preferred.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, especially early mornings.
- Excellent verbal communication
- High energy level and an attention to details
- Optimistic, positive attitude
- Ability to work as a part of a large team, but also work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Manual dexterity
